Recommended online courses, big-C drama, preparing for 2022 collective energy
And I finally have my boobs back!
Happy New Year to you! I hope it has been a happy one.
Our Christmas plans were shaken up by my husband getting a positive rapid test, then getting a negative PCR, and finally getting notification that he was one of the 800+ people to be given the wrong result!
Oddly though, neither my son nor I caught the big-C from him, nor did our 10+ friends he socialised with on Boxing Day. We assume he was no longer infectious by then, but as for me, this suggestion of T-cell memory could explain my immunity from it. Who bloody knows these days!
While hubby was sick, we both followed the early, at-home treatment protocol from World Council for Health to support our immunity.
2022 kicked off with my son deciding to naturally wean from breastfeeding, which I was not prepared for. While partly relieved, I was struck by an emotional realisation that I didn’t know the last feed was the last. For three years and four months, 1,224 days in total, my body nourished that little tinker, and he just decided one day, ‘No thanks, mama’!
Breastfeeding has been both the hardest and easiest thing I’ve ever done, and I feel I deserve a medal! But alas, I will just pat myself on the back and prepare for the hormonal upheaval that’s to follow once the milk completely dries up.
- A blog post on breastfeeding will soon follow for those interested.
Online Courses I completed in 2021 which I highly recommend:
Last year I completed nine online courses. Here are the best ones:
Medium BadAssery by Tim Denning - for writers and bloggers, teaching you everything you need to know about writing on Medium. With the knowledge from this course, I became one of the top 1000 writers on Medium in July and earned a US$500 bonus.
Amazon Book Publishing Shortcut by Todd Brison - for anyone who wants to create and sell a book. With this course, I published The Healthy Virtual Assistant book within 30 days and have sold over 100 copies.
Note: I couldn’t find the public link for this course so if you’re keen, just subscribe to Todd’s newsletter to see when he next launches it)
Linkedin Mastery Course by Tim and Todd - there’s a slight focus on writers here, but I feel any business owner could use this course for better understanding Linkedin. For example, I landed my new freelance gig by doing this course - the change to my profile and content I posted during July-September led to the client connecting with me and offering a job directly.
Circle of Light by Sara Brooke - 21 days of reconnecting with yourself through meditations, reiki, and online virtual gatherings with approx 20 other participants. The course helped me feel grounded, reconnect to my heart, and I got some good night’s sleep.
Comprehensive Copywriting Academy - for copywriters or freelancers wanting to add copywriting to their skillset. It’s called ‘comprehensive’ for a reason! A great writing resource that you have lifetime access to.
*Just to note that I am not an affiliate for any of these courses.
2022 Annual Collective Forecast with Helen Jacobs
I’ve carved some time out this morning to listen to the 2022 Annual Collective Forecast by Helen Jacobs, a powerfully intuitive psychic and channel which I have been following for years.
She has released a full 2022 forecast and a more detailed forecast for Q1 (January to March). Each forecast brings a mix of intuitive guidance, future collective predictions, and practical tools on how to work with the energy throughout the year. I like to think of these recordings like a 12-month ‘weather forecast’, and I always take notes as it’s interesting to look back on.
What I’ve been watching:
Dopesick (Disney+) - an 8-part series based on a true story of how the Sackler family, who own Purdue Pharma, created the opioid crisis in America through fraudulent and unethical marketing of Oxycontin. Michael Keaton stars, and he is awesome. A very apt series for current times.
Don’t Look Up (Netflix) - A comical satire that ‘could be based on a true story’ and while funny, I also found it incredibly sad at how accurately it reflects our current individualistic culture. I also feel the people who have criticized the movie have completely missed the entire point. #giveashit!
The Beatles: Get Back (Disney+) - A fly on the wall documentary featuring the band working on the ‘Let it Be’ album. I found watching the connection and synchronicity between the band members beautifully real (however, I could only do one episode because they are about 3 hours each!)
What I’ve been reading:
This One Wild & Precious Life, by Sarah Wilson - I love the way Sarah writes and have a massive girl-crush, but more importantly, the message and facts she brings about climate change and what we must do about it (NOW) is so important.
And finally, I leave you with this Instagram quote which I love….
Best wishes,
Joanna
